SINKGLOW
Three days, four stages, fifty-seven acts, one limestone jungle full of sinkholes in the Selva Verdeluz. Pack a swimsuit. Leave your composure in the car.
No sunscreenin the wells
Every January we haul fifty-seven acts
and eighteen thousand of you into a jungle full of sinkholes in the Selva Verdeluz, hand you a refill flask and let the water take over.
Nine years running, the howler monkeys still haven't objected.

24 HOURS
IN THEjungle
A loose timeline of a Sinkglow Saturday. Times are approximate. Sunburn not included, but probable.

The campsite stirs
Mist between the hammocks, someone's coffee pot hissing on a gas burner, a stranger offering you half a sweet roll. Camp Ceiba at dawn is the quietest eighteen thousand people ever get.
Coffee brewing 6am
The cenote dip
The Blue Eye below the Bluewell stage turns into the world's clearest hangover cure. Lifeguards on duty from 9am. Screaming allowed, expected, basically required.
On duty 9–5
Golden hour at the Big Ceiba
The sun sinks behind the main stage, the confetti cannons fire, and you hug a stranger from the refill queue. This becomes your profile picture for the next eleven months.
Confetti is paper. Naturally.
The art wander
The Jade Toucan glows in the clearing: ten metres of woven rattan and glass lantern, built by a dozen people over nine weeks. Walk beneath it, lose your friends, find new ones.

Lanternfall after dark
Lasers cutting through jungle mist, a kick drum you feel in your molars, and the howler monkeys answering every drop from the trees. Bedtime is a rumour.

FIRST
We borrow Ixkanil Sinks for one weekend a year and hand it back cleaner. No single-use plastic, no sunscreen in the water, twenty-two refill taps, and shuttles running more often than your group chat.
ALMENDRA TO THE
EDGE OF THE MAP
Ixkanil Sinks sits 2 hours 10 from Puerto Almendra and about 40 years from the nearest decent phone signal. Plan accordingly.
The Sinkglow Shuttle
Every 20 minutes from Puerto Almendra, Friday 9am to Monday 2pm. Two hours ten with a stop at Punta Carey for tamales.
Drive
Verdeluz Highway the whole way. Three or more in the car and you park in Lot A by the gate. One or two and you walk from Lot D. Them's the rules.
Ride
84 km from Almendra, flat as a tortilla except the climb at Cruce Chacá. Free bike valet at Gate B, and a cold coconut on us if you arrive sweaty.
Rail
The Selva Line train runs Friday morning and Monday noon. 180 seats, one marimba player, no promises about the air con.
