The soundpost is spruce. It stands between the top and the back, just behind the treble bridge foot. Drag it and listen: the tone clears in that place. A wrong setting adds 5 seconds. The bass bar is already glued on the bass side. Varnish is ordinary shop practice.
One bench, by candlelight. Fit the bass bar inside the top, then set the soundpost by ear.
